Title: HDDHACKR v1.40 Build 20130303 : format your WD Drive into FATX
Post by: Razkar on 10 March 2013 à 09:01:33
Modfreakz and Schtrom released a few day ago a new build of HDDHACKR now in version v1.40. This MS DOS tool allow you to format a regular WD 2.5" HDD into the xbox format (FATX), then you just have to put in a xbox hdd case and use it as a genuine xbox 360 HDD

* Added support for 320GB and 500GB hard drives (HDDSS.BIN required)

HddHacker supports two flashing modes, Auto and Manual. Typing HddHackr at a DOS prompt
will start auto mode. In auto mode all hard drives will be detected automatically.
In manual mode you can enter all the parameters used for flashing by hand.

The following help screen is displayed if you start HddHacker with a wrong number of
arguments:

HDDHACKR [C|D|F|R] [PORT] [DRIVE POS] [SECTOR FILE] [RESTORE FILE]
C: Create Partitions 0/2/3
D: Dump sector 16-22 from XBOX360 HDD to file
F: Flash Western Digital firmware
R: Restore Western Digital firmware
PORT: Port to send command to e.g. 09F0
DRIVE POS: A0 for Master, B0 for Slave
SECTOR FILE: Sector dump file e.g. HDDSS.BIN
RESTORE FILE: Firmware restore file e.g. UNDO.BIN

Example for create, dump, flash and restore:
HDDHACKR C 09F0 A0
HDDHACKR D 09F0 A0 HDDSS.BIN
HDDHACKR F 09F0 A0 HDDSS.BIN UNDO.BIN
HDDHACKR R 09F0 A0 UNDO.BIN

No its for real 500GB Support for orginal Microsoft Hard Disc. Modfreakz say he have it in advance programmed in, so he not need to update again later.

I have a Western Digital Blue WDBABC3200ANC-NRSN hard drive. Is there a way I can get that model to work? If so, how do I know which .bin file to use. There is lots of different .bin files for the 3200 but I can't tell what the different is. Like WD3200BEVT-22A23T0 (12-04-2009) verses WD3200BEVT-00ZCT0 (12-25-2009). There is different numbers in the file names, but I don't konw what the number mean. How do you know what .bin file to use, etc.? Thanks so much for your help and time!

You can only use drives from following Western Digital drive series:

BEAS/BEVS/BEVT/BPVT/LPVT/BEKT/BJKT/BPKT/BUDT/HLFS/BLFS

It will not work with your drive.

You are not going to break it... it's not like you reflash the entire firmware or something like that ;)

Hi,

What does this mean:

Quote
"Q. Will this tool allow me to connect a 500GB drive to my x360 ?
A. No. The information on sector 16 is signed and can't be changed. You can
only use the size where you have a valid signature for. In otherwords, if a
bigger HDD comes out, then you can use that signature."
Title: Re: HDDHACKR v1.40 Build 20130303 : format your WD Drive into FATX
Post by: Dr.Gonzo on 26 February 2014 à 23:00:56
You need a valid Signature from a original Microsoft Xbox 360 500GB HD, if you want use
a commercial 500GB HD Modell with HDDHACKR. Currently original Xbox 360 HD`s, available
only to 320GB.

The use of 500GB HD is perhaps an option for the future !

I'm having trouble finding the correct hddss.bin file for a WD1600BJKT - 160GB.  I downloaded an rar file that had 13 or so bin files for 160GB disks, none of them were listed as specifically for the WD1600BJKT - 160GB.  I tried them all with now success.  Any help appreciated!

There is no special version for each HD, the hard drive must be compatible only to HDDHackr. Use a hddss.bin  from a trustet Site, such as Xbins.

120GB
250GB
320GB
500GB

160GB shouldn't exist...

HDDHackr v1.40 is the latest Version, there is no newer one.  I cant say anything about the differences, between the two Hds (BEKT and BEKX) series.

Hi everyone !

I have a problem with HddHackr and HDD  HDD WD 160 GB BEVS Scorpio - 22 RST0 [FAT 32] and I tried to make it for the Xbox360. My Xbox is without any Chip mode and nothing else. Just original one.
I have created FreeDOS USB Storage and using HDDHackr 1.40 as in the tutorial, on two different Notebooks[ HP Pavilion dv7 and Fujitsu E780] in both case I had received the same message from HDDHackr. " No ATA devices present!"
But under DOS the HDD is visible and  available to use.
I don't have any idea what I do wrong the tutorial seems clear but I spend a lot of time on this but I am not able to do it.
Maybe my notebooks are not compatible with this software I don't know.

Is anybody can help me?

It's probably a unsupported SATA chipset, try using a stationary computer if possible... they're better...

Hello!

I have created my own 500Gb HDSSS.Bin, you just need to change the number of LBA sectors to the ones your drive has. Be very careful and double check the number of LBAs your drive has or you can break it. This applies also for bigger drives.

I have been able to change the firmware in WD50000LPVX successfully *IF* the model is 22V0TT0. I have tried with model 75V0TT0 also WD5000LPVX and it only changes firmware, manufacturer *but not* the serial numbers. It changes to something different which doesn't make sense. If I undo I go back to my previous serial number, so that's good news, but No way to put the right serial into 75V0TT0. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Could someone PLEASE, PLEASE help me?
My Xbox Slim E won’t recognize the new HDD!

Here’s what I use:
-   XBox 360 Slim E
-   WD5000LPLX (tested drive for Hddhackr 1.40)
-   a Win10 computer

I created a bootable USB-Stick with Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool (where I selected the MS-DOS folder as the location).
I flashed my WD-drive an followed the tutorial from digiex.net exactly (using the 500GB security sector added on 04/03/2014).
Hddhackr tells me that eveything is fine, but my Xbox Slim E won’t recognize the new HDD!

This IS strange, because I had a Xbox 360 Slim (without E) before using the exact same type of HDD! I also used the same computer back then.
My old Xbox got stolen one day and I had to start from scratch: new Xbox, new HDD…)

Here’s what I tried to fix my problem:
-   I updated my Xbox 360.
-   I tested the WD5000LPLX in my computer and it worked perfect.
-   I wiped the WD5000LPLX completely, using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic For Western Digital Drives (also tested the drive: passed).
-   I created various different bootable USB-Sticks with different Windows-Computers (Win10, WinXP) using Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool or Rufus 2.12 (FREE-DOS or MS-DOS).
-   I re-flashed my WD-drive with and without creating Partition 0/2/3.

My Xbox still won’t recognize my drive…

What I found out:

Win10 won't let you use Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool to create a bootable USB-Stick.

In my case I used a program called Rufus, BUT it works with FreeDos instead of MS-DOS.
FreeDos causes problems, when you use Hddhackr.

My advice:
ONLY use Bootable USB Drive Creator Tool with MS-DOS - if you have Win10, as I do... use another computer (WinXP...)
